Inspiration Bliss: Tips on How to Keep Your Creative Flow.

Hello Bliss Seekers, do you ever over think things? Sometimes I over think the ideas I have for this blog to such a point that it stifles any inspiration or creative flow I may have had in the first place. In these dreaded moments of blank, I have some sure-fire ways to stimulate "the little grey cells" as the famous Hercule Poirot would say (yes, I'm a HUGE Agatha Christie fan) and re-inspire some creative thoughts.

Maintaining healthy habits and nurturing my spirit is a must when it comes to keeping clarity of my thoughts and my creative energies flowing. But of course, there are times when I need more than that. Here are some things I do to fast track a cascade of creative inspiration;

Exercise - It is amazing how the resulting endorphins running through your body will stimulate creative inspiration. Exercise, even a walk, is never a bad thing to do, ever!

Read your favourite blogs - Creativity breeds creativity. Often reading about something that peaks my interest generates my own thoughts and ideas on the subject or leads me onto a different topic all together. Just remember to transform the idea into something that is uniquely yours. Do not under any circumstances copy, no, no, no!

Surf Pinterest - Need I say more? But be prepared to be lost in the amazing world of Pinterest, just as Alice found herself lost in Wonderland. The amount of creative inspiration you find here could possibly keep you busy for hours.

Watch a foreign movie - I don't know what it is, but for me, watching a foreign movie always leads to creative thinking.

Meet up with some friends - I can't tell you how many times I have come away from chats with my friends full to the brim with ideas or confirmation that my ideas are worth pursuing.

Grab your self a copy of the current Collective Magazine - This sassy new kid to the magazine block is refreshingly inspirational. It is packed full of success stories (as well as failures along the way) of those who have been brave enough to think outside the box. I guarantee a flash of inspiration will come your way after reading this mag.

Swan through your local independent book store - These little treasure troves have more of an eclectic collection on their shelves than larger book sellers or chain stores. I often find that these quirky shops are where you will find the old classics, the self published and the out of the ordinary. Definitely a great place to be inspired with creative ideas, if not by the book selection (which you inevitably will be) then usually by the passionate store owner who is often the one working in the store and willing to have a chat.

How Do you keep your creative energies flowing? I'd love to hear about it. Sending you much bliss, Heather xx
