Bliss Partnership with FCS Surf

Hello bliss seekers. As promised, I have something very exciting for you today! I was recently approached by Surf company FCS to do a post in partnership with them which left me feeling extremely thrilled. Together, we decided it would be great to do a Q&A style post about my life here in Noosa. So, without any further ado, here goes!

Describe your perfect Saturday with the Family
This may sound crazy but it would have to start with witnessing the sunrise. It was something we began to do together when my son started dawn rowing training sessions and it has just stuck with us. Next we would head home for our once a week naughty breakfast of either homemade pancakes, french toast or freshly baked pastries from our local bakery. As soon as we've had time to digest our indulgent start to the day and the car is packed with boards and food we'd be on our way to the beach. We never give ourselves a time limit and generally stay for as long as the waves are happening. By this stage some down time at home is usually in order before a skate board or bike ride along any of the many bike paths throughout Noosa. To top it all off we would have an early dinner at any one of the fabulous restaurants dotted along the Noosa River on Gympie Terrace or Thomas Street.

What do you like best about living by the ocean?
Ohh there are so many reasons, and being able to cool down in it through out the summer months is only the beginning. It is the serenity it provides when I bathe in it, the solitude I gain when I walk alongside it, the surroundings it provides to socialise with friends old and new, the hours of healthy activity and entertainment it provides my family and the look of triumph and joy it brings my kids when they catch that perfect wave.

How old was your daughter when she learned to surf? what type of board is she riding? What type of surf fins is she using?
Miss R has been around the ocean her whole life and has been sitting on her dad's surfboard since the day she could sit up. It was when she was about 7 years of age that she really decided to take surfing seriously. We began by pushing her onto the white wash on a soft board which then progressed to her being taken out to the break with her dad by her side. Now at 9 years of age she is riding a small Mini Mal with a set of MR-TFX PC Rainbow Tri Fins which are perfect for that extra bit of stability with an ease of manoeuvrability.

How do you keep yourself busy when your family is surfing and paddle boarding?
I never have a shortage of things to do when the family is in the water. I go for a swim, walk along Noosa's beautiful board walk or find someone to have a chat with on the beach. My eyes are usually fixed on my family in the water though and I always have my camera on the ready to catch the little moments of magic that happen. I love taking photos and never have a shortage of subject matter to keep me busy. A latte from the coffee cart adds that little extra bliss to the time as well!

Where's your local break? Favourite family friendly beach for surfing and paddle boarding?
We really just can't go past Noosa Main Beach with its smooth long right hander off First point and long gliding waves perfect for the whole family. In the event that the swell is small or has dropped off, we take the opportunity to grab the paddle boards and paddle off into the sunset!

So there you have it, a little snap shot of my family life here at Noosa. A big thank you to FCS for checking out this little blog and allowing me the opportunity to share a piece of my Noosa lifestyle.

Sending you all much bliss, Heather xx
