Moments of Bliss : Massive Amounts of Gratitude

Surfing siblings catching the last hours of daylight and getting the most out of their school holidays.

Early morning surf : just bliss.

The the holidays are officially over and the kids have all returned to school for another term. Surf boards have been traded in for text books, rashies for school uniforms and thongs (flip flops) have been replaced with school shoes. The past two weeks have flown by and I actually miss the company of Master T and Miss R now they are back at school. As I look at all of the photos, and by this I mean the hundreds of photos I took throughout the Easter holiday break I find myself feeling very thankful. Thankful of the fact that both of my kids are healthy, happy, safe and secure. Thankful that they attend fantastic schools which provide them with a great education whilst nurturing their spirits and topping off this list of gratitude is the fact that both kids actually enjoy spending lots of family time together and with their sometimes embarrassing (isn't that what most teenagers think) Mum and Dad

This local lad is a legend in the making and doesn't waste a single moment in practicing his craft. I love the look of triumph and satisfaction he has on his face, all thanks to some great waves

Any wave will do for Miss R

I am thankful that Mr P and I can raise our children in an environment that is surrounded by beauty and opportunities for daily bliss, which in turn enables them to explore, learn and grow amongst the grandeur of mother nature. I am thankful that there are many other families around us who's children are like kindred spirits for Master T and Miss R and also value the simple things in life such as a great surfing wave, a beautiful sunset, an early morning walk along the beach or BBQ's by the river. It is the images in this post, snapshots of kids out in nature with their families and enjoying the simple things that makes my heart skip a beat and fill me with gratitude.

So tell me, what is it in your life that fills you with gratitude?

Sending You Much Bliss, Heather xx

  1. Hi Heather, I just keep coming back to your blog to see and feel the beach and ocean life. Your colors of your blog and your pictures give me such a wonderful vibe! What fills me with gratitude? Travelling. Seeing all these kind of amazing places and meeting new people. Love your blog! By the way, do you surf yourself? I've tried once around Surfers Paradise (very touristic here right?) but it was too hard!! Xx

    1. Awww you really know how to make a girl feel special Claudia! I have to confess I don't surf, growing up in a little surfing village presented me with plenty of opportunities but I discovered I had more of a knack for bodyboarding. My hubby and daughter surf and my son sails and rows so I spend a lot of my time observing and photographing their talents, from either on the sand or swimming in the water near them. I have to tell you as beautiful as the Gold Coast is, it can be a hard place to learn to surf. Next time you'll need to come up to Noosa!
Sending you loads and loads of bliss, Heather xx

  2. This is a really lovely post, Heather. I always try to stay grateful (it's on my scribbled list of subjects to write about!) - when you think about it, there is so much to appreciate, even the smallest things. Your family sounds lovely :)

  3. Heather, I just love the pics..great job. There is such a great mood about them. Yes I've been feeling so grateful to be able to go for a gorgeous walk and head home to my own space to work and have lots of customers to keep me going and enable me to do it..I can't get luckier than that right now.
