Bliss Inspiration : Friendship and the Happiness Project

An unexpected gift of friendship

"Of all the things that wisdom provides for living one's entire life in happiness, the greatest by far is the possession of friendship"
Epicurus

Much to my surprise and delight I was the lucky beneficiary of a wonderful gift from a dear friend. Knowing that I had recently cleared my bookshelf of certain books which you can read more about here, her card attached to the gift indicated she wasn't quite sure how I would receive such a gift. I love that she sent it to me anyway, as she was certain enough to know that I valued her opinion and that it was likely to be something I really enjoyed. As it turns out, her timing was as always perfect. My head has been filled with lots of positive thoughts and ideas lately and this book could be just what I need to give me some direction.

Nici and I seem to have one of those unique and special bonds of friendship where we don't talk every day and now live in different states, yet know each other so well and can sense when the other needs support, to talk through some thoughts, celebrate an achievement or share in some family joy or success. This gift was just another example of our special connection and I'm truly grateful to have her in my life.

As you can see the gift was a book titled The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. Nici felt quite inspired by it and has also discovered that Kikki K - the stationary lady, had started The Collaborative Happiness Project in conjunction with Gretchen Rubin's book. I have read half the book over this last weekend, been onto Gretchen's website and decided to follow the Collaborative Happiness Project; that is how impressive this book is. Thanks Nici! I din't even know this existed one week ago.

Once I've finished the book I will write a full review and fill you in on my thoughts as well as more details on my following Kikki K's project. Until then, keep smiling and be happy!

  1. Hmm...someone else mentioned this, just this week. Now I can't remember who it was. Must look into it....the universe rarely delivers synchronicity that is not in alignment :) x
