Bliss Inspiration : Hemingway strikes a cord

Fun by Hemingway via pinterest

I recently pinned this image and quote onto one of my Pinterest boards and it has been without doubt one of the most popular pins I've posted to date. I find it quite fascinating just how greatly it has struck a cord with people. I'm not sure if it is the image, the quote, the author of the quote or a combination of all three.

Being philosophical about it, one could read into the fact that fun equates to happiness and is a highly placed priority in the psyche of our human souls. As human beings we seem to be in constant search for it (fun and happiness), longing for it, in pursuit of it and desire to embrace it ever so tightly when we find it. Yet it is something we often tend to forget to honour in our busy lives, while striving to achieve our list of life goals. So, if it is such a huge part of our human nature, why do we forget to have it (fun) as often as we should?

In my experiences the more fun I have, the happier I feel, the more content I become, the more creatively I think and the more success I encounter. So, lets take the philosophy out of it. Put simply, having fun is the key to living your best life so get out there and enjoy it. Thanks Mr Hemingway for your blunt but direct reminder. Now I think it is time for this family to make it's way to the beach and have some fun!

  1. This is so true for me too. I'm now rediscovering how much I love drawing. We were all artists as kids, before our inner-critic got in the way. We need to remind ourselves to do some things just for fun, nothing else!

    1. I totally agree with you Stacy, we all need to honour our inner child with some good old fun in our lives. Keep drawing! maybe we'll see some of your work on your beautiful blog.

      Kindest Regards
