Cultural Bliss : Gurrumul, A True Gift From Heaven

The man himself

I'm sure many of you have heard about this truly talented and remarkable man, but for those who haven't his name is Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu. He is from an island off the coast of Tropical North East Arnhem land here in Australia, you can find out more about his inspiring story here

This music travels directly to my soul, it is the most, peaceful, pure and authentic sound I have ever listened to. He sings about his connection to his land, his ancestors and sacred spirit. Geoffrey's music has quite a profound affect on me and I am extremely moved by one song in particular with its honest purity and beauty. It is called Bayini (play the video below to hear it) and features the gorgeous voice of another Australian signer and songwriter; Sarah Blasko. I just had to share it with you. I'd love to hear your reaction and whether or not it had an affect on you.

Sending you much bliss and some beautiful music, Heather xx
